Leader:  Parker Flickinger , Co-Leader:  Jo Ann Cobb  ASL Interpreter:  Karla Johnston, EIPA 4.7, RID-ED

Join Parker Flickinger and Jo Ann Cobb on a walk through Rancho San Rafael Park and May Arboretum to look for birds with American Sign Language Interpreter Karla Johnson.  This is an easy walk on park paths along slightly rolling terrain. Rancho San Rafael Park, located next to the University of Nevada, Reno, offers open green space with well-maintained pathways along slightly rolling terrain.  From the parking lot, we will explore the paths through the Arboretum, pass a marsh and look to see which birds may be on Herman’s Pond.  As time allows, we can continue walking through the park toward the McCarran Tunnel and bird mural, sponsored by the Lahontan Audubon Society and painted by Edwin Martinez-Escobar, with the help of many community members.  Marsh and riparian areas provide habitat for a variety of birds.
