Join us to count birds for the Great Backyard Bird Count! Ben will lead this walk at Crystal Peak Park, located along the Truckee River in Verdi. Located at the base of the Sierras, this park can get interesting winter visitors including red crossbills. The park features a pond that serves as a perfect overwintering area for ducks such as ring-necked ducks and goldeneyes. Due to the park's proximity to the mountains, it is one of the best places in the valley to see white-headed woodpeckers and pygmy nuthatches year-round.
