Description:

With the ongoing Nevada Bird-a-thon and celebrating Global Big Day on May 14th, we are excited to announce our own mini birding marathon happening on May 14th. This marathon will explore 3 birding hotspots in a single day in this order: Damonte Ranch Wetlands, Diamond Creek Pond, and Oxbow Nature Study Area.

We will be meeting at the Damonte Ranch Wetlands at 8am. After exploring the wetlands, we will visit  Diamond Creek Pond at approximately 10:30am. After the wetlands, we will be taking a lunch break. We will then meet for our final adventure at Oxbow Nature Study Area at 2pm. Exact meeting locations and a map will be provided for registered participants.

Former Bird-a-thon Champion and LAS Marketing Coordinator Parker will be leading this adventure. This adventure is open to everyone and participants can choose to visit one or all of the birding hotspots with our group.  Be advised, this adventure will require walking of a mile or more at each location (~5miles total) and will take place in the hot sun. Hats and sunscreen are encouraged.

We will have birding equipment available for borrowing for registered participants. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions and we hope you can join us on this adventure!
