Veterans' Lake Photography Field Trip

Location: Veteran's Parkway Trail off Sage Hill Road, Google Maps.

Difficulty: Easy, walking along  paved path, approximately 1/2 mile total.

Description:

Back by popular demand, we are leading a field trip at the hidden gem in Reno, Veteran's Parkway Lake. Currently this lake is home to a menagerie of birds, including American Avocets, Northern Shovelers, Green-winged Teals and more. Plenty of raptors and songbirds will be foraging in the meadows, including Black-billed Magpies, Northern Harriers and possibly a Common Yellowthroat. This will be an easy walk on a concrete path, about half a mile total. This area will offer plenty of excellent views of birds, so photographers are welcome and encouraged to attend. Equipment such as binoculars will be available for loaning, just email us by Thursday June 23rd.

Important Note: Parking is at the trailhead is limited, however additional parking is available at a shopping center down the street. Carpooling is recommended.
