Pinyon Jay Community Science - Bird Walk near Lockwood
04/11/2026 07:30 AM - 11:00 AM PT

Location

Reno, NV

Summary

Description: This is a bird walk to look for Pinyon Jays and practice using the Survey 123 app. Data will be added to the Pinyon Jay Community Hub. Ned and Kayla can review questions about the Pinyon Jay surveys. This is a great way to learn about these birds, meet volunteers who are helping us collect data, and to share stories about what's been seen in the field! New volunteers are welcome to join in. We will meet up at Kaffe Crepe at noon to grab a bite and share stories. :)

Leaders: Ned Bohman and Kayla Henry, Great Basin Bird Observatory

Difficulty: Moderate - dirt trail with an easy to moderate slope. Please bring sturdy hiking shoes, water, and sunscreen.
